This is Pastor Ivan with a group of international students he was helping to get out of Ukraine.
Pastor Ivan is from Sumy and early on in the war, he had to evacuate his wife and children but he remained behind to help those who hadn't been able to leave. These are the elderly and vulnerable and he has been getting medicine to those who need it and delivering food to people too scared to leave their homes.
He is one of the many courageous pastors whom we are supporting, who have decided to stay, regardless of the cost. The demands on these leaders are becoming more and more every day.
Firstly the number of refugees is growing daily and more and more displaced people arrive at their churches in need. Secondly they are having to procure and deliver aid to regions across Ukraine, including Sumy, Kharkiv and Poltava which is dangerous and very difficult logistically. Thirdly they are evacuating people from their homes and constantly on the road driving in between towns.
Please join us in praying for them for protection, courage and strength as the face feelings of powerlessness, fear and despair.
